Opening the Red Gate Arc, this installment sends Jinwoo and Song-Yi onto a low-rank training raid, brings a vengeful American hunter to Korea, and sees a routine gate seal everyone inside as a Red Gate.

The story splits between Hwang Dongsoo's contemptuous drive through Seoul and the trapped party's plunge into a frozen world inside the Red Gate. There two Ice Elves open the hunt by deliberately striking down the weakest members first, until Jinwoo snatches an incoming arrow from the air.

Ch. 49Chapter 49

Installment number 49 of the Solo Leveling series finds Kim Chul sorting the trapped party by raw power. He warns them about the gate's warped flow of time, and Park Heejin elects to follow Jinwoo as doubts about him sharpen.
