Summary

Momo struggles to wrench the Evil Eye away from Jiji, but he urges her to stop, having decided from the visions that the spirit is good and has long borne quiet suffering. She trails Jiji as he hurries to the base of the stacked generational dwellings where the Evil Eye's body rests, grasping that he has been shielding it during his confinement below. Arriving there, she steps into a dispute between Turbo Granny and Jiji over trusting the spirit, until the Tsuchinoko, having given up its pursuit of an exhausted Okarun, jolts them with electricity and seals them in phlegm. Momo readies an escape with Jiji, then turns to find him out cold. In his mind, Jiji confronts the Evil Eye from his childhood imprisonment, apologizes for misjudging him, and consents to play as the spirit longed for, delighting it. The pact takes hold, and Jiji shrieks in pain. As the worm descends to devour Momo and Turbo Granny, the Evil Eye, now wearing Jiji's body, strikes it back and declares his intent to wipe out all of humanity.
