Chapter 681

Smoker, reminded that Law forbade touching Caesar while the scientist still holds his heart, leaves Luffy to the fight and goes after Vergo. As their brawl resumes, Caesar demands to know why Luffy means to capture him and warns that Law cannot be trusted, though Luffy insists that judgment is his own to make. Caesar drains the oxygen around him, forcing Luffy to strike from range, and counters with a flaming sword.

Just as Luffy winds up a hardened Jet Gatling, Monet throws up a wall to protect her master. She holds Luffy back so Caesar can flee, declaring that Joker will kill her if anything happens to him, which leaves Luffy wondering about Doflamingo's stake in all this.

In the connecting passage, Sanji and Vergo clash, Vergo shrugging off a flange strike by hardening his body to steel and fracturing Sanji's right leg with a kick. Sanji fights on while shouting for the Marines to flee toward Building B as the corridor locks down and the gas floods in. An emergency broadcast then reports that Law has reached the SAD Manufacturing Room, and Caesar, Vergo, and Monet grasp at last what he has been after.

Monet reveals the power to raise barriers of snow. Caesar debuts new attacks including the fire sword. Law's joining of the Warlords and his alliance with the Straw Hats are confirmed to serve a personal agenda, one his foes only now begin to understand.
