Summary

Three years have passed since Boruto and Sasuke disappeared, and Sarada once more argues their innocence before Shikamaru, who now holds the office of Eighth Hokage. He will not withdraw the order to kill Boruto, pointing to Ada's Senrigan testimony relayed by his attendant Konohamaru and to the villagers who still blame the boy for Naruto's death. Sarada throws Naruto's own record back at him, from rescuing the missing-nin Sasuke to reaching the Hokage seat while still a genin, and names Naruto, not Shikamaru, as the one she looks up to. Only she and Sumire hold onto the real history, since the power called Omnipotence has quietly dissolved everyone else's lingering doubts over the years.

Key Events

Kawaki looks in on the imprisoned Naruto and Hinata. Seeking a way to counter Omnipotence, Sarada and Sumire consult Ada and Daemon; Ada lays out how the ability works but cannot promise it can be undone, and warns that to outsiders their memories are the ones that seem altered. Mitsuki checks on Kawaki, who bristles at his killing intent and tells him to stop trailing him. Himawari spars with Chocho and resolves to grow strong not for its own sake but to help Boruto, certain her father still lives. Kawaki shrinks newly found Claw Marks across the village until Claw Grime suddenly erupt from shinobi everywhere and attack. Code appears hunting Boruto, planning to bait him by menacing his friends. Boruto arrives and plants a foot on Code's face, and as the sensors alert Shikamaru, the two square off while Kawaki fixes on Boruto's return.
