Exploding-Till-You-Eat

Exploding-Till-You-Eat brings together a parent and child, Kūi along with his son Daore, a duo of competitive eaters who roam the countryside signing up for every eating challenge they come across. The pair's chosen title leaves most onlookers confused, because the well-known phrase is normally worded the reverse way, as eating-till-you-explode. Neither Kūi nor Daore has any patience for that ordinary saying, and any time it gets mentioned they simply pretend they did not hear it.

Living as touring contest regulars, the two are at their most visible during Konohagakure's Parent and Child Day eating event. They battle their way through to the last round as one of the three remaining teams, only for it all to fall apart at the table. Daore passes out under the mountain of food he has put away, while Kūi is sick after swallowing dumplings that the Ankorodō stall had laced using Earth Release.

In the anime version, the father-and-son team instead conspires with the owner of Ankorodō, who rigged the contest to benefit the Dōtonbori by leaving their Lightning Burgers unspiced and giving them dumpling bowls more shallow than the ones the Akimichi got. Boruto Uzumaki noticed the trick and traded the doctored bowls back for fair ones. Once the owner's cheating came to light, all three parties earned a scolding from Shikamaru Nara.
