A ninja of the Fūma Clan who once razed an entire settlement on a false lead, then crossed paths with Jiraiya in a duel that scarred his brow. Long after his death, Nagato reanimates his body as the Animal Path among the Six Paths of Pain.
In life his hair was a pale green, gathered into a long ponytail with a strand left loose along the right of his face. His duel with Jiraiya opened a gash across his brow, a mark the Animal Path would later keep hidden beneath a forehead protector. Once Nagato claimed the corpse, the hair was recolored orange and the face studded with metal: a broad bar pierced through the upper nose and pinned to each cheek, further studs ringing the lower face, one on the nose, and one in each ear. The body carries no eyebrows, bears more piercings across the chest and legs, and shows the Rinnegan in its eyes as the sign of Nagato's grip.
Little of his own skill is recorded, yet he wipes out a peaceful village entirely on his own, a feat that points to real strength. As a son of the Fūma Clan, he fights with their trademark oversized shuriken, and his shurikenjutsu is sharp enough to trade blows with Jiraiya.
On the eve of the Second Shinobi World War, a rumor that an enemy has slipped into a quiet village prompts him to destroy the place outright. Jiraiya arrives to find the ruin, and the Fūma ninja falls on him with his throwing weapons; their clash ends with a slash opening across the ninja's forehead. Years later his body becomes one of Nagato's tools.
As the Animal Path, the corpse serves in many operations: all six Paths together bring down Hanzō, and when Jiraiya slips into Amegakure to dig into Akatsuki, the Animal Path battles him before being captured and shipped to Konoha for study. During Pain's assault on the village, the Preta Path tracks down the seized corpse and destroys the black receivers keeping it active. In the anime, this ninja may be the model for the villain in Jiraiya's novel The Tale of the Utterly Gutsy Shinobi, since his fight with the Sannin mirrors the book's almost exactly.

We ranked the six most popular women of Naruto from worst to first, and our number one is going to start a fight. The official poll got it wrong....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
The Animal Path is one of the Six Paths of Pain, a reanimated corpse that Nagato controls with the Rinnegan, and the first ninja to serve in this role was a deceased member of the Fuma Clan whose body Nagato repurposed after his death.
The First Animal Path began as a living Fuma Clan ninja who wiped out a village on a false rumor and fought Jiraiya to a draw that scarred his brow; after his death Nagato reanimated the body as the Animal Path, and following its capture by Konoha, the Preta Path recovered it during Pain's invasion and destroyed the black receivers that kept it active.
The First Animal Path was a member of the Fuma Clan in life, and like other Fuma ninja he fought using their trademark oversized shuriken.
The First Animal Path's scar came from a duel with Jiraiya, who opened a gash across his brow after finding him standing over a village he had destroyed on a false lead.
Once Nagato claimed the body, its pale green hair was recolored orange, its eyebrows removed, and its face and body studded with piercings, with the Rinnegan appearing in its eyes as the mark of Nagato's control.
