Chapter 94: Analysis

In the wake of the shattering mana surge, Fern reports the brief signal she sensed, and Denken, while doubting its accuracy near the curse warping Golden Land, urges caution against a possible hidden enemy. With Frieren's full analysis of Macht's memories expected to take two months and the keeper's hut lacking even a bed, the group relocates to the nearest settlement to wait it out.

At the barrier's edge, Macht comes to sit with Solitär, who knows he cannot hear her through the seal yet speaks anyway. She warns him that Frieren, whom she rates among the rare few capable of killing him, has begun reading his past. Declaring that she has come to see how his century old dream of coexistence ends, Solitär sets to work cracking the Great Barrier of the Golden Land, a task she estimates will also take two months.

The weeks pass with the party tending Frieren, who can barely move while her mana feeds the analysis, and patrolling the perimeter without finding any intruder. Solitär eventually catalogs the barrier's many components, layered theories of human magic she calls a work of art, before completing her work. As Frieren nears the end of her own analysis with only two days left, the Great Barrier collapses, and Solitär announces that the battle for coexistence has begun.

Frieren spends two months in a near helpless state while she deciphers the enormous span of Macht's memories. Solitär, unheard by Macht through the seal, works in parallel to decode and finally shatter the Great Barrier of the Golden Land, freeing the demon and opening the way to the coming battle.

Issued June 15, 2022, the chapter carries the title Analysis and continues volume ten of The Golden Land arc. Much of it dwells on lighter domestic moments among the party, including Frieren's distaste for onions. It establishes that only a demon eccentric enough to study human magic, as Solitär has, could ever unravel the layered barrier sealing the Golden Land.
