Peace reigns after Kid Buu's defeat, but Goku yearns to train while Chi-Chi forces him into farming. Mr. Satan delivers 100 million zeni out of guilt, giving Goku the freedom to resume his training on King Kai's planet.

Goku begins training under King Kai's gravity while Vegeta honors a promise by taking Bulma and Trunks on vacation. Across the cosmos, Beerus destroys planet Mogina and recalls the prophecy of the Super Saiyan God.

Beerus consults the Oracle Fish, who confirms the prophecy of the Super Saiyan God. Learning that Saiyans now live on Earth, Beerus sets course for King Kai's planet while Bulma's birthday cruise sets sail with the whole gang aboard.

The Pilaf Gang stumbles onto Bulma's cruise ship while hunting Dragon Balls. On King Kai's planet, Goku accidentally learns about Beerus just moments before the Destroyer arrives at his doorstep.

Goku challenges Beerus after blowing his cover on King Kai's world. Cycling through Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and Super Saiyan 3, Goku throws everything he has at the Destroyer, only to be defeated in two decisive blows.

Beerus and Whis crash Bulma's birthday party, and a terrified Vegeta must keep the Destroyer happy at all costs. Things spiral when Good Buu refuses to share his pudding, igniting a confrontation that no one on the ship can handle.

Earth's fighters throw everything at Beerus and fail. Gotenks, Piccolo, Android 18, Tien, Gohan, all fall in seconds. But when Beerus strikes Bulma, Vegeta's fury erupts into the most powerful Super Saiyan 2 transformation ever witnessed.

Vegeta's rage-fueled assault briefly catches Beerus off guard, but the Destroyer remains unscathed. After Oolong loses a rock-paper-scissors gamble for Earth's survival, Goku arrives via Instant Transmission with a final plan: summon Shenron.

Shenron reveals that a Super Saiyan God requires five righteous Saiyans to pour their hearts into a sixth. With only four available, all hope seems lost until Videl reveals she is carrying Gohan's child. The ritual succeeds, and Goku is reborn in crimson.

Goku takes his new Super Saiyan God form for a test drive against Beerus. After a rocky start adjusting to his lighter, divine body, Goku begins matching the Destroyer blow for blow. Both fighters admit they have been holding back, and the real battle begins.

Beerus pushes Goku to his limits, crashing him through islands and into the sea. A devastating strike through the chest appears to end it, but Goku heals his own injuries through sheer willpower and emerges ready to fight at full power.

Goku and Beerus clash fists with such force that their shockwaves begin tearing the universe apart. Old Kai warns that two or three more collisions will reduce everything to an empty void. Goku must learn to perfectly cancel Beerus' attacks or all of reality will cease to exist.

Beerus nullifies the universe-threatening beam clash by using 100% of his power. When Goku's Super Saiyan God time runs out mid-fight, he reverts to regular Super Saiyan but discovers that divine power has permanently merged with his body.

Goku burns through his last reserves of Super Saiyan power against Beerus, destroying a massive energy sphere with a single punch before collapsing. Beerus falls asleep before he can destroy Earth, and Whis reveals the god was holding back all along.

Mr. Satan holds a press conference to claim credit for defeating Beerus, only for alien visitors called Snackians to arrive and demand a sparring match. A fortunate canine phobia saves the day.

Vegeta discovers that Whis is Beerus's martial arts teacher and resolves to win him over with food. After every restaurant fails, a humble cup of instant ramen secures Vegeta's ticket to Beerus's planet.

Baby Pan arrives, Krillin is revealed to be a police officer, and Goku spends weeks pestering Bulma for a chance to train with Whis. Chi-Chi tries to stop him, but Goku grabs onto Whis and rockets into space.

Goku joins Vegeta for grueling chores and combat drills under Whis on Beerus's planet. The angel introduces the concept of autonomous body movement while, in deep space, the mysterious Champa and Vados destroy planets in search of something.

Sorbet and Tagoma travel to Earth and use the Dragon Balls to resurrect Frieza, who has endured a personalized hell of cheerful stuffed animals and parade music. The tyrant is restored to his fragmented body and immediately rebuilt.

Frieza vows revenge and spends four months training to unlock his latent potential. Jaco warns Bulma of the incoming invasion, and the Z Fighters scramble to assemble as Frieza's fleet of a thousand soldiers darkens the sky.

The Z Fighters engage Frieza's thousand-soldier army while Goku and Vegeta train in a separate dimension. Tagoma reveals himself as a hardened warrior, and his sneak attack mortally wounds both Shisami and Gohan in a single blast.

Captain Ginyu steals Tagoma's body using a cleverly written message and rejoins Frieza's side. After overpowering the Z Fighters, Ginyu pushes Gohan into going Super Saiyan, which provokes Frieza into firing Death Beams. Piccolo takes a fatal blast to protect Gohan.

With Piccolo dead and Gohan broken, Bulma desperately contacts Whis. Goku locks onto Gohan's Super Saiyan energy for Instant Transmission, arriving just in time to deflect Frieza's killing blow. Vegeta eliminates Ginyu, and Frieza powers up to his final form.

Frieza unveils Golden Frieza, a gleaming new evolution that overwhelms Goku's Super Saiyan Blue in a furious exchange. Beerus and Whis arrive after a tense encounter with the mysterious Champa and Vados, content to watch from the sidelines while eating parfait.

Goku discovers that Golden Frieza's power is draining rapidly because the form was never properly mastered. After turning the fight around with a decisive punch, Goku drops his guard and is shot through the chest by Sorbet's ray gun.

Vegeta unleashes Super Saiyan Blue against a weakened Frieza, only for the tyrant to destroy Earth in a final act of spite. Whis reverses time three minutes, giving Goku the opening to obliterate Frieza with a point-blank Kamehameha and close the book on the Golden Frieza saga.

Champa, the God of Destruction from Universe 6, crashes onto Beerus's planet with his attendant Vados. After a tense food rivalry and a brief brawl, Champa proposes a five-on-five tournament between their universes, with Earth as the grand prize.

Beerus and Champa finalize the tournament rules, choosing the Nameless Planet as the venue. Bulma builds the Super Dragon Radar, summons Shenron for help, and recruits Jaco for a mission to locate the final Super Dragon Ball before the gods can wish on them.

Goku and Vegeta assemble their tournament roster, recruiting Buu and Piccolo as the final two members. After a comedic misunderstanding with Krillin, the Saiyans head into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for three years of training before the big event.

Bulma and Jaco travel to the planet of the all-knowing Zuno to gather intelligence on the Super Dragon Balls. After wasting two of her three questions, Bulma learns the orbs are planet-sized and scattered across Universes 6 and 7.

Goku and Vegeta emerge from the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with beards and three years of sparring behind them. The full entourage travels to the Nameless Planet, where Goku meets Monaka, the Universe 6 fighters are revealed, and Buu fails the written exam.

Goku opens the tournament by outsmarting the damage-immune Botamo with a ring-out, then faces Frost, Universe 6's polite counterpart to Frieza. After dominating in Super Saiyan, Goku inexplicably collapses and is knocked from the ring.

Vegeta faces Cabba, the Saiyan from Universe 6 who cannot transform. Through calculated cruelty and threats against Planet Sadala, Vegeta pushes Cabba to unlock Super Saiyan, then reveals it was all a lesson before finishing the match with Super Saiyan Blue.

Hit, Universe 6's legendary assassin, systematically dismantles Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta using an invisible technique called Time-Skip. Goku steps in next and begins deciphering the ability by predicting Hit's movements 0.1 seconds into the future.

Goku unveils his secret weapon against Hit: Super Saiyan Blue combined with Kaio-ken, a fusion so dangerous it carried a ninety percent chance of killing him. The multiplied power lets Goku surpass Hit's growing Time-Skip, culminating in a colossal energy collision.

The Universe 6 versus 7 tournament concludes with Goku voluntarily stepping out of the ring to give Hit a fair fight another day. Hit returns the gesture by throwing his match against Monaka, handing Universe 7 the victory just before Zeno, the King of All, makes his first appearance.

The Omni-King Zeno makes his first shocking appearance, announcing a future tournament of all twelve universes. Beerus secretly uses the Super Dragon Balls to restore Universe 6's Earth, while Monaka is revealed to be an ordinary deliveryman.

At the victory party, Beerus goes to absurd lengths to hide that Monaka is actually weak, even disguising himself in a Monaka costume and fighting Goku in one of the funniest episodes in the series.

After overexerting himself with Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken, Goku loses control of his ki and must babysit baby Pan while recovering. The infant's hidden Saiyan potential leads to an unexpected adventure with the Pilaf Gang.

Goten and Trunks accidentally stow away in Monaka's delivery truck and end up on Planet Potaufeu, where a criminal named Gryll unseals the dangerous Commeson. Vegeta arrives to rescue them but is absorbed by the entity, creating Duplicate Vegeta.

With Vegeta fading from existence, Gotenks takes on Duplicate Vegeta but is hopelessly outmatched. Goku arrives just in time via Instant Transmission and begins a death match against the copy, who refuses to absorb opponents because he inherited Vegeta's warrior pride.

Goku and Duplicate Vegeta clash at full power, both ascending to Super Saiyan Blue. When Monaka accidentally crushes the Commeson's core, Goku seizes the opening to obliterate the copy with a God Kamehameha, saving Vegeta just in time.

In the devastated alternate timeline, Future Trunks and Future Bulma struggle to fuel a time machine while a mysterious enemy called "Black" hunts them. Future Bulma is killed, and the shadowy attacker is revealed to bear Goku's face.

Future Trunks escapes Goku Black by barely making it into the Time Machine and travels back to the present. Upon awakening at Capsule Corporation and seeing Goku, he attacks him, mistaking him for the enemy who destroyed his world.

Future Trunks explains Goku Black's rampage to the Z Fighters and spars with Goku to measure their enemy's strength. Just as they finish, a time portal opens and Goku Black himself steps through into the present timeline.

Goku battles Goku Black in the present timeline at Super Saiyan 2, but Black grows stronger with every blow. When the time distortion corrects itself and pulls Black back to the future, he destroys the Time Machine as a parting act of cruelty.
