Cultivator

Cultivators are veteran swordsmen who train aspiring recruits before they ever face the Final Selection. Each one specializes in a single Breathing Style and forms a deep bond with their students, accepting personal responsibility for whatever those students become.

Demon

Demons are an ancient, human-eating race and the central antagonists of the series. Once human themselves, they are reborn through Muzan Kibutsuji's blood, gaining brutal strength and rapid healing while remaining bound to the night, to wisteria's poison, and to the master who created them.

Demon Slayer

Demon Slayers are the members of the Demon Slayer Corps tasked with hunting and destroying demons. Each one earns their place by surviving the Final Selection, then climbs a ten-step ranking ladder while wielding a Nichirin Sword and relying on a Kasugai Crow to relay their orders.

Hashira

The Hashira, meaning Pillars, are the highest-ranking and most powerful swordsmen in the Demon Slayer Corps. Each masters a unique Breathing Style and answers only to the Corps leader, taking on the threats too dangerous for ordinary slayers.

Kakushi

The Kakushi are the support corps that works behind the scenes for the Demon Slayers. Masked to protect their identities, they treat the wounded, clear away the aftermath of battles, and keep the Corps running while staying out of direct combat.

Kasugai Crow

Kasugai Crows are the talking birds the Demon Slayer Corps uses to pass orders. Each one is paired with a single slayer and carries mission details to them, speaking in loud but limited human sentences as a living messenger service for the entire organization.

Ninju

The Ninju, also called the Shino Buff Mice, are intelligent muscle-bound mice trained by Tengen Uzui. Each one can haul a single Nichirin Sword and slip through spaces no human could reach, making them handy assistants on covert missions.

Oyakata

Oyakata is the respectful title borne by whoever heads the Demon Slayer Corps, a role traditionally passed to a male of the Ubuyashiki Family. Cursed to die young and physically frail, each Oyakata leads not by the sword but through foresight, calm judgment, and inspiring devotion in every slayer.

Spider Family

The Spider Family is a cluster of spider-themed demons dwelling on Mount Natagumo, gathered under Rui, the Twelve Kizuki member ranked Lower Five. Bound by terror rather than affection, the group debuts in Chapter 28 and anime Episode 15, and is ultimately destroyed.

Swordsmith

Swordsmiths are the skilled craftsmen of the Swordsmith Village who forge and maintain Nichirin Swords for the Demon Slayer Corps. First appearing in Chapter 9 and Episode 5, they work in deep secrecy, masking their faces to shield their identities from demons.

Tsuguko

A Tsuguko is a gifted Demon Slayer chosen as the apprentice of a Hashira and groomed as a potential successor. Introduced in Chapter 44 and Episode 22, the role is rare, demanding, and ultimately abolished when the Demon Slayer Corps disbands.
