A transformed Kaiser starts making baffling choices, passing to Raichi and thanking Isagi for shattering him, as his identity teeters between collapse and rebirth. The scoreline holds at 1 to 1 while Kiyora waits for his own moment.
Isagi notices that Kaiser is moving differently now. Kurona urges Isagi to accelerate for a combination, but Karasu arrives to hold him back. Having foreseen this, Isagi lays the ball to Kurona, who feeds Hiori, only for Kaiser to steal it away just as Hiori grows eager to create something. Raichi barks at Kaiser for robbing a teammate, while Ness happily trails behind in support. Aware of Ness, Kaiser instead makes the unexpected choice to pass to Raichi, who has no idea what to do with it.
A flashback to Kaiser's younger self shows him aching to shed all that formed his present self and become once more the nobody he used to be, a boy who only wanted to feel alive. Raichi returns the ball to Kaiser in hopes of earning an assist, and on the sideline Igarashi panics, unable to grasp why Raichi would do such a thing. Rin darts in to strip Kaiser and knock him down, and Raichi shouts at him for squandering the pass. Kaiser chases after Rin, sensing a turning point between the ruin and rebuilding of who he is, and he thanks Isagi for robbing him of his freedom and forcing this awakening.
Raichi manages to win the ball back from Rin as Kurona doubles up, and it reaches Kunigami, who still keeps Shido pinned. Karasu grows frustrated, no longer able to read the flow of the match, while Hiori delights in the realization that his side now has two cannons in Kaiser and Isagi. Kurona gathers Kunigami's ball and floats a lengthy delivery out toward Isagi, who knows Kaiser is angling to steal it, as Kiyora looks on calmly, determined to find a way to shine.
As Isagi, Kurona, and Hiori try to build a play, Kaiser strips the ball from Hiori. Kaiser unexpectedly passes to Raichi, who passes it back hoping for an assist. Rin takes the ball off Kaiser, but Raichi wins it back and moves it to Isagi. Kiyora observes the play, biding his time for a moment to shine.
